After a long hiatus, Athletics PNG INC. is now hosting a World Athletics Coaches Education Certification System (CECS) Level 1.

28 participants from around the country are at the PNG National Sports Institute to attend the week-long course.

The last time a program like this was held was in 2001 according to workshop co-facilitator Philip Kamane.

Among the participants are athletes who recently competed in Benjamin Aliel, Rellie Kaputin, and Karo Igo including former champions in Wala Gime, Sapolai Yao, Angela Way, Debbie Kaore, Nelson Stone and Subul Babo.

The course is run by Team PNG Athletics Head Coach Brett Green.
